Fibrosis

Fibrosis is where the liver has begun to become scarred due to repeated damage, healthy tissue is replaced with scar tissue where it has to repeatedly repair damage.  There might be no symptoms at all, or only mild symptoms. If the cause of the fibrosis is not resolved it can lead to more permanent scarring of the liver (cirrhosis).  Fibrosis can sometimes be reversed through taking action against the cause, for example, if hepatitis B or C is causing the damage getting treatment can help.
